The Saddle Scribe is a specialized marking tool built for luthiers and techs who demand precision during saddle adjustments. Whether you're dialing in the action or fine-tuning a custom setup, this tool helps you make clean, accurate cuts every time - before the grinding even begins.

Draw it before you grind it. This tool came from years of saddle trial and error - too much removed, not enough angle, inconsistent cuts. The Saddle Scribe gives you a visual guide before you ever touch the sander.

Key Features:

  • Precision Marking Increments - Imperial version: 0.02", 0.04", 0.06", 0.08", 0.10"; Metric version: 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm, 2.5 mm
  • - Staggered Line Guide: Helps you mark both sides of the saddle and guides your angle for clean, consistent beveling
  • - Designed for visual accuracy: Gives a clear line to grind to - no guesswork, no backtracking

How to Use:

  1. Measure your target: Decide how much you want to lower the action at the 12th fret
  2. 2. Double it: Saddle removal = 2x action reduction (e.g. drop 0.01" action = remove 0.02" at saddle)
  3. 3. Mark your lines: Use the Saddle Scribe to mark the calculated height on both sides of the saddle
  4. 4. Stagger your cut: Use the built-in guide to draw angled reference lines for a proper bevel
  5. 5. Grind with confidence: Take it down cleanly and evenly, right to the line

For Luthiers Who Sweat the Details: Consistent, clean saddle adjustments can make or break a setup. This tool keeps your hands steady and your numbers tight - every time.
